Hows it going now mate? Last I read you had the dipped beam working? but no main beam yet ... is that rite?

Did you go for the HIDS4U kit?
And how do you rate the output?

Yup, dipped beam is now HID (with one half of the kit from Hids4u & a relay) and the output has to be seen to be believed. Why BMW didn't offer HID as an option is beyond me. As a safety aid, I'd rate this over ABS. Running alongside cars on the motorway in darkness shows just how much more light the HID produces. It really is amazing.

High beam will be HID also... as soon as I can get around to it.

FWIW, if there's a downside to the stock reflector, it's that your're still more or less blind tipping the bike into 90 degree turns on the country lanes, even with the HID's, cos the light's dont turn with the handlebars (obviously) so you're looking/turning towards a point that is in darkness. Unless you live in the sticks, you'll probably not be bothered by this.

had a similar problem and found the bulb for dipped beam not seating correctly. thought it was a fault with the bulb but turned out the hole in the reflector wasnt quite big enough. took lots of wiggling to seat it correctly then ok! :thumb2
