Map update help please

I have updated my Zumo 660 to version 2014.40 via Garmin Express onto an SD card. However, when I go into Basecamp, it is still saying City Navigator Europe NT2011.20.
I though that when I updated the Zumo, Express would update the maps on my PC also, or am I missing something fundamental here?

You would have seen an option to install the maps to the device only, the computer only or both.

Reload maps onto computer only.

Or, the other option is to always connect your Zumo to your computer when you use Basecamp. Basecamp will then access the latest maps via your Zumo.

The option of loading the maps onto both Zumo and computer is the best one, but accessing via the zumo is a fallback if you do not have the time to download the maps to the computer

In basecamp (or shite, as I call it), look for the dialogue box telling you the map version. Click the tab and it will give you a list which should show all the updates inc 2014.40, provided you installed it on the computer.

In Garmin Express with device connected click on reinstall maps & look for the advanced button, failing that use Garmin MapUpdater

Yep got this far so it is installed on the computer. But I can't use it on the computer because now the bloody thing is telling me that 2014.40 needs to be unlocked! Bearing in mind the device that I am using (and have registered with Garmin) has lifetime map updates why should it be this difficult!!
When I try to unlock it online, I am being asked for a product key - I can't find such a thing in the box that the device was in when I bought it.
Any ideas?

Try logging into Garmin my dashboard, product key may be there, failing that check this link.
