garmin tell me i can use the second unlock code on my city nav europe v9 that i got with the zumo to use on my 60csx, not understanding this mapping business...is there any reason i shouldnt do it

Non at all, unlock it and go.

From 2008 on you won't be able too.

As far as I can see V9 is just as good.

cheers richie, if i did use the unlock code, garmin said i couldnt sell the unit if i wanted to upgrade units next year. this is the part i dont understand. surely if i bought the 08 map upgrade they would have same control or can i swap that from unit to unit

Don't understand, at least not the way you have typed. Of course you can sell the unit. You'd sell it with the unlock code for the new owner. Anyhow from 2008 its one unlock code per unit, to be bought and paid for...
