By Jesuz Slackware 11 with KDE is good

The only thing I don't have running to convert the laptop is Garmin Mapsource. I've got the program running fine but it won't find the GPS. Anyone got some sort of solution (in particular uploading the maps to GPS as I could save the waypoints to a file and upload them seperately)?

Office now converted to Linux. I'm Windows free. :thumb

Are you using Wine? It's possible it's all done for you but you used to have to set all the devices up by hand in Wine. There's a module in the kernel to support USB garmin devices but I'd have thought it wouldn't have been required using Wine. I could be wrong. CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_GARMIN in the 2.6.19 kernel if you want to try it.

Yeah through Wine. I've got the Garmin module loaded but according to documentation Wine only supports USB Mass Storage and can't interface with Linux modules directly.

Which is a real bloody shame. I'm told Garmin are working on Linux/Mac software for '06, so don't know what stage it's at.

:nenau

Yeah but I'm aiming for Windows free. If Wine supports mass storage only then somebody could try using a Garmin 2610 or whatever as they are mass storage unlike the Quest which has a locked up interface. Anyone up for the test?
