Hi, does anybody have a copy of mapsource version 9 I could have or even just borrow. I am just buying a 2610 off of this site and it comes with a version 9 unlock code but no dvd.
I am just trying to get to grips with the Nav II / 2610 mapping. I registered online and looked through for map updates. Using the registration code on the yellow sheet and the unit serial number, they are going to send out a 2008 map cd free of charge?! Wait and see if it turns up.

Now do you need version 8 before you upgrdae to 9?

Any previous version will do.... I think.
2008 Map CD turned up and loaded OK. Then you have to pay to get the unlock code! Didn't seem too bad at US$85, so I did it anyway. The process could be a bit clearer though.

I also have just got my 2008 dvd in the post. I also didn't realise that you had to pay to unlock it.
My Question is, is it worth the $85 to upgrade over version 9? what do you get extra?

I don't think so. Suppose it depends where you are going. Lots of extra POI's though.I also have just got my 2008 dvd in the post. I also didn't realise that you had to pay to unlock it.
