Maximum mileage on Anakee 3?

Hi blues,

How much did you pay for them? If i can ask...

I've been quoted from £260 to £290....... I think it's a bit overpriced.

Thanks!

I bought the tyres online for £183 delivered from national bike tyresco.uk and had them fitted to loose rims at Barnstormers in Maidenhead for a further £50 so £233 in total fitted and balanced to loose rims. NOG wanted £295 to supply and fit on a ride in ride out basis so I saved £60 but it gave me a chance to give the wheels a good clean. Etc.

I rand NOG to get a quote on loose rims and they wanted £90 :blast I mentioned that they were charging more for less labour but the poor girl just didn't get it so I went elsewhere.

Never though about cleaning the wheels. ... That's a good Point!

Thanks bellboy, I might be a bit silly but I rather get shiny shiny tyres

I replaced the standard Anakees at just under 4k as the rear was quite badly squared-off and had 2mm left on it.

Around 6500 miles for the rear and I've just changed the front at 9300 miles. I bought both via the net for very handy money. (£67.00 for the front and £22.00 to fit by my local independent mechanic / tyre fitter)

Never replied to a tyre wear thread before.

I would not class myself as a hard and certainly not fast rider. Best i have had out of any rear tyre is about 4.5k. After this the handling starts to suffer. Usually can get up to another another 1.5k but definitely no more. Just amazed that people are quoting beyond this. You guys must be super smooth on tyres :bow

Hi guys,

Just wondering how much life you're getting from them.

I got 6500 miles, front is still ok, rear one is starting to get square, I think that I could get another 500-1000 miles from them.

Thanks!
Juanma.

Mine have finally died a death at 27,686 km (17,203 miles). However, they were 2's, not 3's ...... only noticed when I was checking them prior to changing. Dunlops now; will see how they do......

9333m for me and probably had another 1000+ but had squared off badly, and the noise..........Just changed to PR4 Trail

Anakee3's on my GS LC have lasted 3,000 miles. Well, the rear anyway, front look like it had another 1,000 left but the rear was toast.

The rear had squared off badly and the sides were looking ragged. The last 1,500 miles have been on very fast and highly abrasive roads.
PR4's on now. . . hoping for 6k!

I get 5000 out of my rears, both on the A3's and the PR4's.
The A3 squares off more than the PR4. I have nothing bad to say about the A3's but I do prefer the PR4. They inspire more confidence and wear more evenly.

4000 miles and the rear is square and almost illegal. Front wont last much longer either. Noisy tyres but they've never let go wet or dry. Thinking of fitting Dunlop Roadsmart 2s next. Anyone tried these ?

Currently got 7800 on my rear AIII. It's squared off but good for another 2 to 3k.
I will happily replace them with a fresh set of III's as I've had no problem with them.

4800miles from the rear (dissapointing considering its a run in period), barely UK legal but the tyre squared off by 3K miles. The Front looked o.k. but the Bike always felt nervous to me ( like the tyre pressures were too high). Fitted Tourance Nxt to it, WOW night and day difference not just new tyre syndrom. The bike's planted and It's like having a quicker newr 1150 again! so much so I even let the thought of selling the 1150 enter my head :loopy

of course I don't know what these will be like on a trail as I only used the original tourances on the 1150 and they were fine. time may tell once I've got over the shiny newness of the bike :)

8500 miles on Annakee IIIs for me and by then the rear was really square and the front was getting pointy. I'd have replaced them, but at the time no-one could supply them, so I ended up with Conti Trail Attack 2. Did 9500 on them and replaced them in preparation for a trip, but they had at least another 1000 in them. I found them a lot quieter, too. Currently on my second pair of Trail Attack 2s.

Conti's for me too. 10k front and 12k rear before they lose shape and/or square off too much, but still loads of tread left.

Does that mean I ride like a pussy?

Can only sit back and read with wonder at the milage some of you guys are getting, like Dario anything over 5 tho on the back is a real bonus on all the bikes I've owned.

I must be doing something wrong :blast
