Bad bad bad ,
Just finished 12 month with them.
Insured my beemer and my honda c90 on same policy.
They got a letter wrong on reg of c90 even after taking details which were bang on from my tinterweb filled form, I checked it. after expensive phone call 0845 said they would sort it so I just forgot about it.

Anyway did a askmid early sept to check was still insured as due to run out in sept, easier than going through all my docs only to find they had not rectified the prob and the c90 was not ins .

Lukily I hadent been pulled or had a claim but had paid for and was driving uninsured.

Policy expired on 16 sep I rang them 0845 kept it short ,Dont reinsure me send me proof no claims , it is now 3/10/11 recieved nothing WOW what a suyprise

Went with swinton cheaper and no probs at all

Got to admit I was with MCE for years until last year, cant remember exact reason I changed, think it was due to European cover.

Hi,

If it's any help, as I work within the insurance world, find out from their internet page who underwrites their policy. They have to state it clearly as part of the Financial Services Authority's requirement.

Then write an email to their complaints department, quoting your policy number, any dates of correspondence etc, and explain what happened ref the c90 despite your attempts to rectify the situation as well as expressing how unhappy you are with their service.

Conclude the email by saying that you feel that they are not meeting their requirements as part of the 'Treating Customers Fairy' requirements and you want a proof of your 'No claims bonus' within the next 7 days and an explanation. If this doesn't appear suggest that you will be escalating your complaint due to the serious concequences of MCE's actions if you'd have been involved in an accident or the police.

That should take about 10 mins to write and should get you a response. Also will vent off a bit of steam as it were! :thumb

If it's any help next time, I went through Compare the Market (Meerkat) and got a fully comp quote with a £0 voluntary excess for my '4 1150 gsa with no 'no claims discount' and no previous years of bike ownership for approx £200.

All the best
