Had to pay a licence on the current kilt because of the tartan, it was the tartan that I wanted and was happy to pay the price.

Licence To Kilt? Is that the Bond tartan? :D

Seriously though, what tartan is it?

Ronno,
On your way west you could visit evelyn.

She altered my kilt and made me a coat.

Everthing is made to measure and covers a number of size alterations as I have the FB VFB sizing.

Click on her links for examples of coats etc. Haven't got a picture of my coat yet but it certainly is unusual!!!!

You could consider buying an x hire

Good prices! If her quality is as good, there will be folk beating a path to her door.

Evelyn does a grand job with great quality, she made me a 1800c frock coat in weathered Monro tartan. She kits out alot of pipe bands and enjoys the challange of creating something different - see "circle of gentlemen".

Looking at TT they do not seem to do a kilt pack!!!!!

Ronno-- There's a place in Abernethy-- Fife side of the Tay, east of Perth, called Caledonian something or other--can't remember-- that does very reasonably priced made to measure dress jackets etc.
There is another place in Murthly--next to the Tay--where the ex Black Watch kiltmaker operates. He works with Janet Eagleton, who is a sporran maker to the stars--Samuel L. Jackson, S. Connery, etc. He is absolutely brilliant and unbelievably quick, obviously makes kilts with military type layout. Janet and her son make huge range of sporrans--they made one for me using an otter I ran over(!?)--not allowed now-- and its terrific. They also have a shop in Perth. Can't recommend them highly enough. PM me if you want phone nos--or come up for a donder and I'll take you there.

If you want to dress like a girl why not buy a simple and cheap dress / skirt:nenau or if you really want to express your scottish roots get a high quality string vest and drink more:hide Don't see the point in them really, your just conforming to a stereotypical sweaty sock, be yourself! The recent gathering of the clans highlights it to me, with all the Americans being the current clan chiefs it's all become a bit cheesy! Oh dear I'm off to hide now as I fear I'm about to be lynched:hide but everyones entitled to their opinion. Save your money and spend it on bikes.
