I have owned my 590 for around 5 weeks now, First 3 weeks everything works as it should.Roll on to two weeks ago travelling along with the Media Player playing , I pulled over for a break and a smoke and the 590 turned off before i turned off the ignition " 590 wired through a relay " So it only powers on with the ignition on.Thought nothing of it until i turned on the ignition again started the bike and the 590 did not start up,Took it out of the mount pressed the power button and nothing ,Removed the battery and replaced pushed the power button and it starts up.Stopped and started about four times before i got home with no futher problems.Today i went out for a run and at the fourth stop the 590 would not power up in or out of cradle,Took out the battery and replaced worked perfect for the rest of the day.I did a master reset when i got home so will know better during the week as i will use it in the works van to see if it dies again.I had this problem with my 550 twice and Never with the 660.Hopefully the reset will cure it.Cheers Francis

Hi again I used the 590 in the works van for 10 days with no problems at all.Put it back onto the Bike and it works perfect ,I rechecked the connections on the bike in case of a loose connection everything is as it should be.I did a master reset and the downloaded an update so fingers crossed the problem has been cured.Francis

No need to be worried Neil,Just a heads up for other users of the 590.So that they can try this if having similar problems before sending back to Garmin for repair or replacement.Francis

Just a bit more info on the Zumo 590 It has been replaced with a Fully Checked and Tested Replacement Zumo 590 .The replacement Zumo 590 failed with the same problems as the original Zumo 590 on the second day I used it. It was not Starting/Loading up when the bike was turned off and starting again after a Fuel/Food/Smoke Break , Also it was turning off when travelling along the road. The only way to get the Zumo 590 to load up was take off back Door Disconnect the Battery Reconnect the Battery Refit Back Door .Not a bit happy about this my Advise Neill do not buy a Zumo 590 it is a Useless pile of Junk.Francis

Ah well.... I bought one last spring after my jealous rage :green gri
I'm happy to report that mine is working beautifully.

Hope you get another replacement that finally works soon.

Neil
