Mudplugger

Hi Mudplugger. We hope to resume regular Maldon meets on 2nd Thursday of the month. last summer we had about 18 bikes show up, but last month there was only Tricky & me :(

Hope we get a few more next time. I can't make the next one as I'm away on business, so make sure you go along and give Tricky a bit of support!

Steve

Steve, thanks for reply, there should be standing room at the bar then!!! How do you use your bike?, is it a daily commuter, or weekend enjoyment. Any other regular rides you go on?

Justin

Next Maldon meet this Thursday 11th May

Although I didn't turn up at the last one I shall be there this Thursday.

Anyone else ?

Regards, Colin.

Unchained across the USA

Hope you all have a great Thursday on the Quay. I'll be flying to Atlanta to pick up my bike and start back across the US to the new home in Seattle.
I've decided that 5500 miles needs spicing up, so have set a goal of crossing the States without using any chains, no BK, KFC, Starbucks, McD, or Hilton, Marriot or the such like.

If you give a damn, you can keep up with the trip at:

Hope the sun is warm, the beer is cold and the roads dry.

Steve (Lamble)

A young man, parked in a hedge, at your age. You don't wanna do that, you wanna keep those tyres on the road, thats what you wanna do. On the edge but not in the hedge! now that certainly doesn't suit you Sir :D

Hey Tricky, sorry to hear that - hope you were OK? Now what you wanna do is get yourself a nice little KTM for playing in hedge rows and keep that lovely GS for the tarmac. I hope its back on the road soon, I was looking forward to catching up with you Thursday so I could pick your brains about your GPS. Keep in touch and take care, Im glad your still there :)

PS. May see you if your over at Gt Bently tonight, mind you its a long walk

Yeah but no...

2nd Thursday in May is good for me just not this one as SWMBO and I are off to Germany on Friday :D so will be packing and doing bike prep activity. Will make a note in diary to head to Maldon next month and look forward to seeing some local Tossers.

Thanks Mer :D

To add to my tale of woe (coming back on Sunday) the pockets of my HG jacket weren’t waterproof (was pissing it down) and guess where my mobile was… phone is now kaput and most of my numbers were stored on it… and not on the sim card. :mmmm

Can you mail me at work or text me. Would be good to catch up.
:)

Thanks for the evening everyone, being new to GS'ing it was great to meet you and the welcome was appreciated!! Any chance we could move the venue as it took me 2 minutes and twenty seven seconds to get home. :bow PLEASE. HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GOOD NIGHT, HERES TILL NEXT TIME

Nice to see everyone, and the couple of Maldon Golds went down just right.
Hope to see you all again next month if I can get another visa.

Is it just me or do other people feel a bit edgey following the fuel tanker convoy through the tunnel?

Mudplugger - you must live the other side of town !

I missed an inpromptue ? rideout as I got there after 8pm but perhaps we should organise something for next time ?

Highlight for me was when a lady leaving the pub saw Martins tank cover and said 'ooh look, that ones got a little coat on'.

Cheers, Colin

Allo Boys,

Thanks also to 'Silver GSA pilot' with the Garmin 2610,for the information. It was helpful disscussing its merits etc, sorry I can't remember your handle?? By the time I got home I think I must have had enough 'mozzy meat' on the front of my bike and googles to make burgers for a Barby :D
