Looking through the latest BM accessories catalog these two items caught my eye.

First question - are either of these things a big deal to fit? Drain oil, new gaskets and correct torque for bolts?

Second question - not sure if this is a mistake but the MM isn't listed as a suitable model for the cylinder head covers. Does this make sense?

Anyone got pics of either on a MM?

Here's mine showing the CF Front Cover;

I've since had the Rocker Covers too but not got a picture.
As far as i know,(Dealer fitted mine before bike was delivered) there is no oil behind the Engine cover so fitting will be straightforward.I had a wait with the Rocker covers due to the Bolts being out of stock at the time.Again, fitting is straightforward.

Love that engine cover :thumb2

Would love to see pics of the cylinder head covers :bounce1

Sits over the existing valve cover and held in place with 2 special long bolts, top front and bottom rear. Looks great but offers absolutely no protection to the valve covers. The long bolts are a problem if one manages to land the bike on its side just right.

.... and that would be me...

A couple of months back, while sitting in stationary traffic, I was nudged on the side by a car who was in turn the point vehicle in a chain collision involving another car and a truck. The bike landed on its side and slid less than half a meter. However, the rear bolt managed to dug into the asphalt and acting as a lever, cracked the magnesium cover.

Better to stick with something higher in the periodic table, not as cool but will be easier on the wallet.

Ouch :tears

Hadn't realised that the carbon cylinder head covers were fitted over the existing ones. In that case I'll give them a miss even though they do look gorgeous :thumb2

Is the engine cover fitted over the existing cover too?

The ad states ... significantly saves weight.

Now, pardon my stupidity, but how can adding things save weight.

Unless its that new fangled 'anti-gravity' carbon fibre.

I've just fitted my CF engine front cover and I can confirm it is much lighter than stock.

Stock cover - 350g
CF cover - 148g

The saving of a massive 202g has transformed the bikes handling. Acceleration is also in a different league. It's as if the bike has an extra 20HP.

:D

If they're that good, I might look into one myself :augie
