Meta Alarm Problem "help please".

I have a meta alarm fitted on my DRZ, which is a pain!
I started the bike yesterday and all the indicators started to flash and would not stop.
I disconnected the battery which stoped them but the alarm continued to click until the internal battery failed.
I reconnected the battery and the alarm went off and lights started to flash again.
Any idea how to stop this?
Anyone know how to remove the alarm?
The alarm was on the bike when I bought it, so I dont know where it was fitted and therefore cant take it back to be removed.

Hi Mike.
I have just recently had the alarm/immobiliser removed from my bike. It packed in and left me stranded and I had to be recovered. I rang round a couple of independent bike shops to see if anyone could remove it. A couple of them said that they didn't deal with alarms themselves but had a mobile guy who installed them on their behalf. They gave me his number and he came to my house and took the bugger off. He quoted me £40 over the phone, but only charged me £30 because I removed the fuel tank myself. Ring round, I reckon there will be someone in your area offering the same service.

A common problem Mike. I had the same problem on my GS. Its the water It took Po and I an afternoon to remove the bugger. Most of the wiring was done in black wire, presumably to confound the theives. But with a bit of patience, frequent tea breaks, and a bit of head scratching we managed it.

Try a search, loads of info re their removal.

Well, thanks for the replies.

I would like you all to know that Dr "Pearcy" made a house call today and even with his busted shoulder, he carried out a very successful Alarmectomy.
The patient is well and is "currently" on trickle charge in the recovery unit.
