Please can anyone help?

Bike (TRX850 not the GS) alarm will not disarm - press remote, no bleeps or flashes, nothing.

Try bike ignition and alarm fires up, flashes indicators and deafens me in the garage. No shortage of juice (backup battery?).

Alarm is a META M351A - put new remote batteries in - no difference.

Only possibility is the fact that the Optimate is on Orange not Green LED (3rd out of 4). Main battery is probably gone but why won't alarm reset? Anyway all attempts have been with Optimate still connected so 12V supplied.

On advice, tried disconnecting main battery, then turn ignition on then reconnect battery - alarm beeped 4 times. Seemed hopeful but no change.

All suggestions gratefully received - MOT due next week!

I had the same problem with my 357T nothing from remote, had to keep using the code on the red plastic card using the switching on and off the ignition system. Five minutes waisted everytime I wanted the bike started, especially irritating at petrol stations.

Someone off here put me in touch with

contact- Peter Mouncer

He tried to diagnose over the phone as he knows Meta systems inside out but ended up replacing the control box only which solved the problem. I did end up with a spare remote which I didn't have before.

Give him a ring. :thumb

Bump

Thanks newman7096 - I may go "commercial" later.

Apparently there is a procedure for recoding the remote (META website says "take to Dealer" - I CANNOT IT WON'T RUN! Daft suggestion or what).

May be switching ignition on/off in a sequence or press remote for x seconds or similar.

Anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks

Yes...and it applies to all bike and most car alarms.

Disconnect the fecking thing and bin it.
