So I fitted the Meta Defcom 2>1 alarm to my SA S, obtained from Fleabay for almost a quarter of the KTM price.
Also, the mounting kit was already fitted to my bike, so an even better deal. Maybe they all have this fitted.
It was a plug and play connection but the unit doesn't have the passive arming, where it sets itself after a period of time. However, to me that is more convenient, when for example, at the filling station.
Because of the wiring of the plug fitted to the bike, some of the features of the alarm are not available. I won't list them for obvious reasons.
However, it does link to the LED on the dash and flash the indicators when fob buttons are pressed to confirm the mode.
It can also be set to no sensitivity to movement, if desired.
Be warned, you can press the Ready To Race button and the alarm will not sound if the bike key fob is not in proximity, but if it is then the alarm will sound, so remember to turn off the alarm before you try to start the bike!
