Metal Degreasers

For years I have used Hammerite's Metal Degreaser but it's getting hard and harder to find.

Any recommendations for an alternative? I don't need it in industrial quantities - just 500ml at a time!

I couldn't be arsed today ..... for the sake of £15 odd .....

Used to be able to buy it at the local garage, where to buy it now??

Yes ... I use paraffin. The only downside I find is that it leaves a clean but very dull finish that then needs a bit of a polish up.

Trichloroethylene or acetone work well. Possibly not readily available in the UK??

Trike.....ozone depleter.

Montreal protocol of the late '90's put paid to its general use in UK industry, although 'exceptions' by the likes of the aerospace industry means its still in use there.

Brake and clutch cleaner fluid works well with a pressurised spray bottle.
