Been recently running relatively new Anakee Adventures of my 1250GSA spoked wheels, and prior to that TA3s on my alloys. Now I've decided to try Anakee Road on the alloys. I've only done about 70miles on them so far but first impressions are good, much quieter than the others, also much quieter than the Michelin Road 5s I had on the 1250GS previously, they seemed very 'buzzy".

I liked the TA3S but I'm a bit of a Michelin Fanboi, so thought the only way to find out is to try them for myself. Time will tell, but I intend to take tread depth checks at each 1000 miles to see what wear rate is like. The quietness seems to make the bike feel like it's running better and smoother. Chicken strips are already down to about 1cm without really trying.

Start depths are :
Centre: 7.0mm
Edge: 4.0mm
Inbetween: 5.7mm

This is for the V rated version.

I’ve an Anakee road on the rear of my Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. Fitted last year in Ireland due to a none repairable puncture. The Anakee road was all that was available at the local bike garage. I’ve around 6000 miles on it now. Definitely quieter than the Anakee adventure on before it and still on the front. I’m going to be due a replacement of both in spring and definitely considering Anakee road tyres both ends. I did the Col de Somellier on the Anakee road rear and it was fine. I did drop the bike on a hairpin bend but that wasn’t the tyre it was me.
So yeah, they’re good enough tyres, fairly quiet, decent wear too. Probably nobody on here and very few riders anywhere can find the limits of modern tyres on the road and that’s where most of the bikes spend most of their time.

You’re right, I’ll never take them to the limit but at least they’re quiet and smooth. As long as they give me good wet grip too I’m a happy bunny.

Any more thoughts on the Anakee Roads GSIan?

I've only done about 800 miles on them up to press, but so far so good. I don't known if it's just my perception of a different type of noise but they seem quieter than what the CTA3s were, once they settled in after the first 500 miles or so. Not had much rain here in Gods own country since I fitted them but seem good on damp mornings. Brilliant in the dry, gives confidence in corners, shocked me on a couple of occasions of how stable the bike was whilst leant over. As good as the CTA3s for sure. I'll report back after ive done more miles of what wear looks like, obviously nothing significant showing yet.

How are they on the muddy, gravelly back roads? I've Anakee Adventures which are quite good on the wet twisty country backroads covered with run off from the fields etc; however there is a fair bit of road noise which I would rather not have. Mine are at 7,000 miles with around 3 to 4 mm left on the rear, so I expect to get maybe another 1500miles out of them.

Not tried that yet, When I went to the Caigorms I needed something for riding gravel farm tracks, but I put on my other wheels with Anakee Adventures. The blurb says A Roads are 90/10 rather than 80/20 like the A Adventures. The sipes are quite wide so may be ok in dry conditions, but deepish mud, not sure I'd want to chance it when I have other options. I would think for normal tarmac roads they'd be as good as A As if it was just a smear of mud or gravel. I had a slip in that kind of thing with AAs, The bike DTC saved it easily, just a short heart stop until I realised.
