Asking anyone one mileage is pointless, I am hoping for @4,000 miles from the rear, which is what I got on the ZZR1400.
Still tells you nothing, I only got around 1500 each from two BT-014's, yet 4k from Roadsmarts, so as for Dunlops wearing out quick "I Don't think so", I also got over 3,000 from a Qualifier RR on the ZZR - A Dunlop Track Day Tyre that outlasted a Bridgestone road tyre by over 100%, whilst providing far more grip. But I also know of other riders who managed to get through the same BT-014's in under 1,000 miles and some who could make them last 5,000 miles.
So I am guessing a Roadmsart will last anywhere from 2,000 miles up to 12,000 miles depending on who is operating or "swinging on" the throttle.
Independant tests showed that Roadsmarts both outgripped and outlasted Michelin PR2's, however Dunlop had 2-3 years to beat the PR2, Michelin have now had the same time to try and trounce the Roadsmart, so I would hope the PR3 is a better tyre, but if it is (and I bet it will be) £40-£50 more than the Roadsmart I will not pay the extra as I doubt it will last the 20% longer necessary to make up for the price differential.
Maybe the Road Attack 2's are better

who really knows, tyres can be a very personal thing, some tyres suit some riders better than others, I like the Roadsmarts and unless something comes along that is universally regarded as better, or this set do melt away in 2k I will stick with them because they give me great feedback and lots of confidence and are a premium tyre renowned for both dry and wet weather grip.
I am sure others get the same from different brands, I think the point is if you really like a tyre then stick to it, if you don't then try something else - and if others are recommending something it is a better gamble than something with no recommendations.
