Four thousand miles ago I decided to try a set of PR3 Trails on my GSA to replace the Roadsmarts. After a progressive ride around Wales the past weekend with friends on sportsbikes, I have now worn through the wear indicators and a distinct bald patch now exists in the centre section. I really like these tyres in the wet - they are so confidence inspiring you really don't need to adjust your riding style that much if at all. I'm also not concerned about a 4K mile life on the rear as thats self inflicted and made much worse following a Hilltop remap
However, I don't like the fairly flat profile that comes with the Trail version - I'm sure it might suit some but I prefer a more rounded profile to give a linear feel when cornering. I did find with the Trail version that its like riding all the time with a squared off rear tyre and so have just ordered a standard PR3 for the rear to see how that one fares. I eventually worked out how to tell the difference between the Trail and Standard version, the former is simply an "R", the latter a "VR". Well, thats what I think - will find out when its delivered tomorrow.
