I have the GPS Mount and I have set about fitting remembering how easy it was on the 1150 and :yikes:

I have screen off, I have headlight out, I have 2 x 10mm bolts out from back of cluster and a screw from the back of the headlight housing which seemed part of it and still I don't seem to be where I need to be and the cluster seems an immovable object!

Are there any instructions anyone can offer before a numpty with tools ends up with an unusable bike :o

Cheers,

p.s. I had hoped to replace the blown bulb in the tachometer while I was in that area :(

Are you sure the mount you have is the correct one for the 1100 as the website says - "the mount is held in place by the edge of the speedometer: no holes, no screws but absolutely solid" :nenau

could be that the 1150 one (if thats what you have) wont fit... i would get in touch with the man migsel himself.

I'm fairly certain I'm headed in the right direction - and I deffo have an 1100 mount, both require (I believe) rear access to push the speedo clock forward, insert mount then button up.

PM already dispatched to Belgium but have cross posted as bike is in bits and time is of the essence unless I put it all back together again un-done.

hi buddy

maybe a stupid question but have you disconected the speedo drive from the front wheel so you can feed the cable up?

If I recall ...

... getting to the back of the Speedo is the worst part of this job. Two nuts hold speedo in frame but you'll need to release the speedo drive (at wheel is easiest) to give you enough slack to slide the unit out.

I had mine mounted back-to-front for two years before I looked closely at someone else's :blast

Got there in the end - needed to 'convince' the instrument cluster to come apart then undone the speedo cable at the wheel and struggled manfully with my sausage fingers to get the speedo out and back and stop the clock lights popping out.

Thanks guys :thumb
