It carries my sandwiches
It’s a pukka (robust) transit case. Can’t remember brand. Like Peli cases.
I ran for years touring with the OEM top box then saw the light with the big 42L GIVI box. Acquired in mint condition from here. It’s brilliant. It’s cuboid so is more useful than the curvy 30L Beemer box. I’ve got used to a separate key. And the fact the GIVI box won’t stay unlocked. There are pros and cons to that idea.
I stripped down a spare pillion seat, re-used the cover and bolted the box on the base plate. So it locks on as usual. It’s not pretty as my attempt at neatly foam filling it didn’t work well. It is water proof with regard to the under seat space where my Fuzeblock lives.
The box carries tools, puncture repair kit and compressor. I’ve had a few punctures, but never needed any tool jobs otherwise.
Never carried a pillion so stripped off the rear pegs too. So must remember to fit the box at MOT time.
The bike is worthless to a dealer, but my cost per mile has been satisfactory to me. I’m sure I could keep up with a 75 plate bike
