Misfire

Hi Guys picked up my 1200 GSA last week out on it today going in to a corner dropped from 4th in to 3rd and blipped the throttle it backfired once and cleared any ideas. only did it once so i don`t have any idea

Pops, farts, bangs and belches are all common noises from the exhaust, particularly on overrun.

It is fine.

It's more than fine! On the over-run Mine gurgles like errrrrr, a gurgling thing on acid. Sounds brilliant .

Does it all the time particularly when you shut the throttle down... You will learn to love it.

Cheers guys i did`nt realise just how much i`d smile when out on it but dropped it today at a junction felt a right twat but hey ho coming from a lambretta to this means the learning curve is vertical. But great fun.

Did you pick it up in a jiffy with one hand behind yer back? It's amazing how strong you suddenly become when you feel such a plumb and every ones looking . (been there many times....!! )

1st item on the shopping list is a set of crash bars.

picking it up

Easiest way is to turn your back to the bike, bend your knees and put your bum into the seat - one hand gripping the handlebar and the other under the seat (or the pannier rails) then straighten your legs. It comes right up and easily too. Just be careful not to let it go over the other side. Saw this demonstrated on You Tube.
(Sad person that I am I practised this in the privacy of my garage laying my old 1150 on its side on a cushion!)

Sold Two of em and still have one i`m keeping this one for now this one i took to Morrocco in June loved the travelling bit that much went for my first bike and love this even better

They all pop, fart and burble on the overrun, but I have observed that the 2010 doesn't always take very kindly to very rapid throttle blips when changing down from say 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st - they sort of 'baulk' for a 1/10 of a second as if it might stall - however if one takes a slightly slower and much larger blip then all is fine.
