Find it annoying when magazines do tests & publish specs, comparison tables etc but get the facts wrong.
This weeks MCN has a test between an Africa Twin, a GS & a Multistrada
Straight away, the BM gets slated for not having cornering ABS & in the comparison tickbox table, its not even listed as being optional.
More research required Adam.

And you're surprised that Mostly Crap Nowadays would do this?

When was cornering ABS introduced onto the GS as standard?
Just curious...
Genuinely I don't know!

I sometimes have fond reflections of the other weekly, "Motorcycle" which was my preferred read in the 70s. There was a sincere sense of loss when it folded. I'm not sure who the target audience is for MCN but it sure as hell ain't me.

I take everything I read in the press and on the internet with a large pinch of salt. MCN is no better or worse than the Daily mail or for that matter the BBC.

Of course everything on here is the "gospel"

Is abs pro not the same as cornering abs? I have it on my 14 gsa and I assumed it was. JJH
Yes, ABS Pro is BMW's name for ABS that has the lean angle sensor for use while cornering!

Those sour grapes must taste terrible when your icon doesn't always come first........:toungincheek

Id disagree with that suggestion. I don't care which wins, as the final review is a matter of opinion, nothing more. I owned a Multistrada before buying a GS, along with test riding the KTM SA, the AT was never on my radar for several reasons including it had only been available a few months when i was deciding what I wanted next.

MCN? nobody really cares what they say. Worst motorcycle publication for accurate reviews and information ever.

I stopped reading that comic ages ago, lost its way and became almost irrelevant (to me and the riding I do). Ride magazine still has some useful stuff, and they work hard for their test reports and routes.

The bike from the manufacturer who spend the most on advertising usually wins the review ;)

To be fair, this is not unique to MCN. Fast Bikes have been quilty of biased reviews of the MT-10, bringing the bike ahead in tests against the S1r. Clearly on paper and test the BM is more powerful, faster accelerating, has sharper brakes and at least as good (if not slightly better ) handling. Yet the MT beats it, in their opinion....ha. Bollocks.

Any road test that doesn't confirm that I spent my money in the wisest, most sensible, most fun and all round perfect way is clearly wrong and therefore written by an imbecile.
