Just got me shiny new 2610 from GPSW. Took it out Sunday and noticed a kind of misting on the inside of the screen after 30 mins or so. Very bright sunlight. Anyone else had a similar thing before I go yarking to GPSW to be told summat daft like I've put it in the wrong place. (1150GSA on the crossbar, gets lots of heat from the oilcooler etc.)
BTW I've had a SP111 and a Quest over the last 4 years so am used to GPS.

Quite a few seem to have had it. Putting it in the airing cupboard overnite seems to be a popular method of controlling it. IRRC some have managed to get it changed because of it.

I love this forum! :D
See, I'd have been mister stroppy pants with some poor sop at Garmin. :nono

Now I'm all hearts and flowers again. :clap :clap

Or some old bollox like that ;)

I've had my 2610 for a couple of years now and never noticed a problem until last month in the Alps. The middle section misted up in the morning but by lunchtime, early afternoon it had pretty much cleared.

Gonna store it with one of those little sachet things that come with electricals. :thumb

I bought my 2610 a couple of weeks ago and I did have very slight misting the first couple of times time I used it. I was less each time and it disappeared completly within 2 - 3 days. :thumb

My 2610 misted up so contacted garmin via email, they answered within 24 hours suggesting methods to dry it out. I had already tried these so they asked me to send it to them. 5 days later I got a new one in the post :clap
Very happy with the service although mine was under warranty.

Tried the "leave it overnight on a warm place" routine, and hey presto! Not a lot. So I did it again at work on Friday (left it on a towel on a radiator all day.)
No misting now! :D Been fine all weekend.

I've had mine for 3 years and the misting just started after the anti reflective part of the screen disintegrated.

Just spent 20 mins on the new freephone helpline to be told that the petrol splash muct have caused the problem and hte cost to fix would be £148 standard charge.

Guess I'll cope unitl it blows up then buy something else!
