If you get here Monday you can have a bed for the night and join us in Inverness on Tuesday. Just don't tell the wife, I haven't.Are you heading up the east side to keep away from the midges? Only asking because I may have a trip up there next week if the sun has got it's hat on.

Nope, bad on the west coast, a few here in the centre and none on the east coast or Moray coast or the Orkney islands
I like the islands, especially if you leave the "mainland" island and go to the smaller ones.
Has he gone yet?

What was I getting eaten alive by on Orkney then? I had to make a run for it. Clouds of the damn things, I had the bike parked in the middle of the big stone ring. Not the one the coach loads go to, about a mile south of that one on the opposite side of the road - just a farmer's gate to it. Anywhere near the lochs too, just as bad as anywhere else in Scotland, or the Lake District or Wales tooo, come to that. I think it is anywhere there is moss or heather, or just damp grass.
