More Servicing Questions

Bike is 12 months old, 5,700 miles so I need the annual and the 6000 mile service. Had varying quotes:

SPC: £295 courtesy bike extra £25
Vines: £ 280 inc courtesy bike
Pidcock: £220 courtesy bike extra £10
Jeffries: £170

Jeffries said it would not need the brake fluids changing but most other dealers say its recommended.

What did anyone else do at the 6k / 1 yr service?

Jefferies, £160 plus free loan bike if you have BMW insurance. First class job no quibbles with a little guarantee work and bike ready (and washed) on time.

Just booked in for 12k with them.

Jeffries sound like top people. The others are "going by the book" which is overkill IMO.

Vines & especially SPC seem to be from the Dick Turpin school of motorcycle servicing. You can have a nice weekend in a B&B in Yorkshire on the price difference.

Have you got a price from Rydale in Cardiff? They charged me £130 ish for a 6k service on my 1150. Loan bike is £12 a day. Not so far for you to travel and you can thrash their bike around the Brecon Beacons whilst they do the service. http://www.rydalecardiffbmw.co.uk/newbikes/
