Recently picked up a new to me GSA with TFT and cannot get item to pair. I have done a search but the majority of issues seem to relate to connecting a phone, a headset and and a nav.

I have no interest in connecting a nav, so surely it must be easy? My phone pairs to the TFT no problem and my headset (Interphone) pairs no problem to the TFT. All my phone contacts, music etc all display on the screen and I can use the TFT to make a call but I hear nothing in the headset, same with music. So despite the headset being paired to the TFT I can receive nothing back from the TFT to the headset (if that makes sense).

I have tried deleting the connections and pairing the headset first then the phone but the result is the same, both connect to the TFT but the headset receives nothing.

Tried connecting the headset to the phone then the phone to the TFT and the result is the same, standalone this works, but when the phone is connected to the TFT then the again the headset does not work.

Any clue as to what's going on or what the solution might be?

Which headset are you using?
I had the same issue with a sena 10. In the end I used the media selective pairing (Bluetooth button long press and then press the main button)
Also make sure your phone isn’t connecting to the headset too.
Mine is phone to tft. Headset to media selective pairing on the headset.

Also check and make sure you have the latest software on the Tft. Should end in 020.

Everything works with the exception of the volume control from the wonderwheel.

I have had the same issue using a SENA 50r, iPhone 11 Pro setup. I've been tearing my hair out since March. been in touch with Sena about it, they didn't do much good if I'm honest. Once I realised that the only thing that changed since I last had I working was that the Sena firmware had changed. I found that it was a problem with the 1.0.8 firmware, Sena made some A2DP changes. once I took it back to 1.0.6 all works again and I can get in call sound to work and the nav paired and connected.

Before I re-installed the older firmware I also found that it worked ok if I paired it all up as normal but left the Nav out. it would work ok until I put the nav back into the equation. It wasn't as simple as just taking the Nav back out, had to re-pair everything with the nav off.

Depending on your headset you may want to look at the firmware, if you use a Sena 50 series with the wifi adaptor, it automatically updates when you charge it that way.

Originally I was blaming BMW for it, then Apple, then Garmin and eventually Sena. seems that there's too many different brands that need to work together. As said, you'd expect the Sena to work as the BMW headset does, cos Sena make it for them as far as know.

Thanks for the input so far, as stated in the original post I’m using an Interphone headset. My phone is an iPhone 8 I think.

The phone and headset work fine together, the issue arises as soon as I add the TFT to the equation. Both pair with the TFT no problem but it seems they cannot communicate thereafter.

Have you checked the volume setting on your phone once paired to the TFT?

You need to do this when paired. It could be that your blue tooth volume is turned right down on the phone. Worth a try. Mine works fine but I do let my phone connect, start some music and dial up the sound on the actual phone to full volume. After that I can adjust the volume to suit on my headset (Packtalk).

It is worth checking that you have the latest software on the Interphone. When I got my first TFT the Interphone F4 I was using at the time wouldn't connect to it. A software update fixed it if I remember correctly.

There is no link between the TFT and the headset, I can for example make a call from the TFT, I cannot hear the ring tone and when answered the receiver cannot hear me, I guess that rules out the volume issue there just appears to be no connection?

Is that your problem? Do you have those two paired? They should not be paired together at all.

No, I have set the phone to ignore the Intercom, as you stated it was defaulting to the phone and the headset icon appeared on the phone screen, I did think that was the problem too. Unfortunately there is still no connection when both are paired to the TFT.

Thats my next step thanks.

I know you say you've set it to ignore, but the only way I could get all mine to work was to only pair with the TFT. I had to physically unpair the phone and the intercom

The TFT is the centre item in this, phone pairs to TFT, intercom headset pairs to TFT, everything works every time....I don't bother connecting the Nav 5 as I don't want to hear the instructions

Thanks to all for your advice; the Firmware update (thanks GSian / Trebor) to the "Interphone Tour" seems to have sorted the problem, to be honest it's something i've never done since I bought it!

What I have learned: as HGS & BobT stated, make sure the Intercom does not connect to the phone, I ruled this out early on as it told me in my ear it was connected to the phone, even though it had paired to the TFT, severing that connection at the time made no difference.

I deleted all connections on the TFT and the phone, updated the Interphone firmware and paired both to the TFT again and as if by magic it all worked as it should.

Thanks again to all for your suggestions and comments, I got there in the end.
