MOT without Locks

I've got my eye on a DR650 but it was nicked and had it's front lock drilled out. The bike comes with 12m MOT but is it a requirement to pass? I'm not too bothered, but at a not so friendly garage in a year time I might be...

NO. it's not.

I wouldnt have thought so unless the drilling caused the stearing to jam or stick at all...

if you get it you could always see if you can completely remove the lock assemble... AFAIK if something isnt on there isn't not going to cause a fail (ie indicator switch but no indicators)
