I've been "testing" Motad's version of a y-piece for the last couple of weeks on my 1150 and have been impressed. It takes the form of a box (collector) rather than a straight forward 2 into 1 y-piece. Warm up is quicker, midrange is stronger and there is obviously a change in exhaust note. After nearly 1000 miles I cannot find anything to complain about. I have tried, honest.
They also plan to develop a can in the near future.

It sounds like the Wunderlich "Professional Collector". Have you got a picture you can post? And do you know the price?

Does it fit easily and tidily?.
Do you still get the farting n'banging on the over-run?.
How much is it,and most important...is it nice and shiney?.:augie

so is this to match a standard can or remus type?
is it silenced enough to be run with a stubby?

Sorry no photos at present. I left my camera in Eastbourne.
It's made from stainless so has now gone a light brown.
Motad fitted it. There was a problem at first which they put down to warping when cooling down. They have now modified their manufacturing proceedure. One of the reasons for wanting a guinea pig was to make sure that it fitted easily.
It's a collector box not a silencer and would therefore not be suitable for use with a stubby.
As it's a replacement for the cat it can be used with the standard exhaust and any other can which is made to bolt straight on. Does a Remus can only fit with their own y-piece?
It popped once on the over run after a "brisk overtake". This was in the first hour of using it. I've tried to get it to do it again but failed. I guess there was a slight air leak at one of the joints which has now sealed.
Don't know when it's on the market or for how much. If you are serious give them a ring.

Hi Brad,

A Q. here about a y-piece reminded me about your post.

So, how'd it go? Must say I'm curious.
