Motobatt battery

Just fitted a brand new Motobatt battery out of the box to my GSA, put everything back, tried to start the bike and nothing? It tried but failed to fire up ?

Do these batteries need charging or should they come good to go out of the box ?

take it back off the bike,charge it on a battery charger then refit it.it could have been stood a while on the shelf before you got it .but generally a new battery should be almost fully charged and ready to fit

Just had a quick look on their website and it does say to check the battery is fully charged to somewhere between 12.7 to 12.85v. So presumably if it's less then you should give it a charge.

You’re a bit vague in the description of your problem - I assume the engine turns over but doesn’t start ? If so it’s almost certainly the throttle cable dislodged from it’s holder, usually L/H side. Someone will post a picture , of look in the section sticky, Tips and info, where this very common problem has a thread of it’s own. HERE

Turns out to be a knackered starter motor ��
