Actually in the instructions you get with the battery, it says to charge it for 3-4 hours to top it up

Oddly enough, yes!
Plus it stops you getting LAMPF errors with HiDs most of the time. Occasionally I'll still get that on re-start if I've filled up with the phone charging and the Satnav still powered through the loom.
But far better than the original battery though.

Havent tried it in yet, wont get to bike till Monday im away to Edinburgh tomorrow morning for an IAM meeting so wont get a chance till Monday

Anyone know if these fit the 20100on DOHC too ? The application chart only lists it to 2009.
Now sure whether the SOHC & DOHC take the same battery.

Are there any different connectors needed, or does the Motobatt fit straight on ?

Yes they fit twincam bikes. No alteration needed to cables.
But as the battery casing is smaller than OE, if you make up a plastic or wooden spacer the original band clamp keeps everything in place correctly.

£47.80 From Amazon. Stuck it straight on the bike and fired it up no problem. On a cold morning it sounded like it was turning the lump over a bit quicker than the original did on a warm day. Only time will tell if it outlives the original. It lasted 5 years and still never let me down. It was getting a bit slow cranking and the optimate says it is past it's best.

Is this bigger capacity than GSA battery? If so I would like the extra capacity but will it fit the GSA?

Won't fit Bendy Toy. I recently repaired an RT gearbox.
The battery is noticeably longer.

I got a bottom plate with my one, is this not enough ?

I preferred to fit it by putting it on the base and making a small spacer to fit under the original strap retainer.
Two thin strips fit inside the 'step' of the original retainer:
