A while back I bought the SW Motech panniers. From day one they leaked like a sieve. I discovered this as I took my Macbook Pro out of 2 inches of water :eek. Considering how much they cost I was not a happy camper. Not being one to whinge straight off the bat I figured I would seal them myself and a friend gave me some aircraft fuel tank sealant which is amazing stuff.

Despite this the panniers still let in water and I was royally pissed off at this point. I contacted Motohaus and in particular Bonnie Wheeler.

They are the UK importer for SW Motech kit and while it was not their fault they leaked she really took customer service to a new level. She provided new seals and other extras to protect my gear at no charge.

She was in touch over the Christmas period and also during this time I had to head over to the continent.

She shipped the goods to the alternative address in Europe without hesitation. :clap :bow

The same cannot be said for SW Motech who didn't get in touch with her or me, didn't seem to think there was a problem with my panniers and had no intention of doing anything about it. They also could not be bothered to ship the new seals across the border from Germany to Austria. In my view SW Motech don't deserve the business for providing such an inferior product coupled with a bad attitude.

In contrast I highly recommend Motohaus and will be using them a lot more in the Future :beerjug: :thumb2

without blowing my trumpet too much I'm a web developer with a lot of experience in SEO so I can make sure bad press gets to the top of the list pretty sharpish :green gri

If you Google "leaking panniers" I'm number 1 in the UK and number 2 in the US pipped only by a guy who favourited my YouTube vid about the leaking panniers :clap

As for the laptop "Panasonic Toughbook MkIII" theres only one flaw... it runs windoze :blast

After I took the Macbook apart it dried out overnight and was up and running the next day :beerjug:

Ow I'm no fan of mickeysoft :anger, but haven't invested enough time into Linux yet.

Bought 5+ legal OS (personal use) from MS & my curt messages to them regarding having my OS locked  due to there error :bomb was fruity to say the least.

Anyone using IE for webby browsing need's a polite-verbal slap. Use Firefox people!!! It's safer & morzilla like to stop hackers or problems quickly; ..rather than within 3-months..etc :augie

You can export your favourite's into a file which is all you need.

Obviously I'm not saying some of that too you Jon just venting some advice. :beerjug:

Hi Gunz

Mac is based on Linux, yes, but faaaaaar more easy to use than Linux.
Once you've tasted the thing, ther's no way back possible ! :bounce1
Try it once, and you'll never regret you're choice. Compare to some "high ends" Pc's they are not "that" expensive.
You can do all the "maintenance" yourself easily !
:augie

This my own opinion and have a lot of respect for every one's else using an other Os

Cheers
:beerjug:

By the way, I have watched your video about you're slow off on the farm's snow... did the stock OEM frame panniers have protected the rear ? Did they touch the ground /snow ? I have the same set-up as you, therefore the question :)
I'm "almost" absolutely sure that Jon won't mind this little "off" topic in his thread, I have a feeling that somehow he likes them

Hello ide508, cheers for responding..mac! It's like a swear word :P

I don't fall into the intelligent category for mac users. :ChrisKelly

Yeah I went with the Beemer F8GS frame and boxes, never have any problems with indicators touching floor or body work. Occasionally the rear foot pegs get knocked about but nothing more than scratching of the underside of the pegs. The pannier frame does get scratched but nothing i would be offended at, my bike is a work-horse in everyday use. :thumb

Still waiting on my adventure-spec engine bars...tut tut been a while now!
