Motor Sport Trucking to Hockenheim

Car race teams usually have a dedicated tyre bitch, sorry, manager.
We did too but they couldn’t always get to the meetings so I had to do it occasionally.
I sometimes forgot to put the tyre dot sticker on which meant the riders weren’t allowed out on track. They had to come back and get them put on. One of them yamped at me ONCE. After I slammed him against the wall and told him to watch his fucking mouth he soon learned to check them for himself! 😂 Pretentious little prick he was.

I didn't know that Max Verstappen had raced bikes...

I also had a few seasons doing the pit board for one of the riders. That had its moments too. Gave me great unrestricted access to the pit lane though.

If any of you chaps ever need anyone to help load/unload stuff at any of these car/bike meetings or wash windscreens, put stickers on tyres or help the Brolly Dollies out you only have to ask. I'm happily retired so have all the time in the world. :D

I did a BSB team for just over 7 years,
keeping the truck spotless, keeping yourself spotless ( for team image etc ) which isn’t always easy when you have to maintain the truck / trailer.

When I was at Brands last week I took this pic as my wife’s grandad ran Scanias back in the day so @Sgt Bilco May like this

Certainly was spotless.

This motorsport lark is a lot harder than people think! I did a BSB team for just over 7 years, getting there 2 days earlier, unloading ( the majority of the team coming out with all sorts of bullshit excuses as to why they can’t get there to help set up, and the same when it comes to packing away, c#nts ), keeping the truck spotless, keeping yourself spotless ( for team image etc ) which isn’t always easy when you have to maintain the truck / trailer. I was responsible for making sure we always had the right amount of fuel ( supplied by a single company at the meetings ), occasionally getting the tyres renewed, keeping the water tank full in the trailer for the kitchen and shower / bathroom etc….
We also had some absolutely fantastic down time too!
I'm with you on that....helped set up a few times with a motorsport charity. The same half dozen would lean into it and it took a fair few hours...as the last bolts were being put, so to say, the usual suspects appeared offering help....partly tongue in cheek, partly "utter wankers" bearing in mind half of us helping were volunteers who weren't even paid expenses. not done it for a while but I imagine it is just the same.... (In a pro team, I'd expect the people paid and tasked with doing it, will just crack on)

Great write up and insight into your job. 👍👍👍
I was a Snetterton and I have to say those Mustangs sound AWSOME 😎😎
