Thanks for that... I was thinking of making my own chain/lock carrier from a pillion seat base... so it'll replace the standard pillion seat, which I never use. Lots of work to make it look decent and not a bodge-it job though...

It really is a very good bag; believe me I have tried several.

It is not fully waterproof, nor does it claim to be. If that is important, put a plastic bag in it…. Or buy the expensive shower cap thing.

Ive also ordered the litelock as gotta do a bit of commuting into the ghetto (bradford but any town or city centre in west yorkshire) soon, an upgrade to my existing ‘portable’ lock and should fit nicely through the front wheel like this one does (was a freebie from wy police)

It is yes , and their round-lock, quality kit i think they are back up and running again

I have taken up putting the X1, so that the rim and tyre pass through the D. As far as I can see, that would require the D to be cut twice, in order to get it off.

I also use the Oxford Boss disc lock, through the rear disk, where it’s quite awkward to get at.

For quick stops (“But I was only a minute…..”) I use either the X1 or the Oxford Boss, sufficient to delay a simple push away, the most common form of theft on the road.

Just registered my X1 on their web portal which you must do within 30 days of receipt for warranty. This includes adding your key code to their database.
If you buy a LITELOK don’t forget to register it.

Fits the GSA front wheel and Tmax nicely, I’ll try the GSA rear wheel next time I move it as it’s ground anchored at present.

The rubberised coating of the X1 and X3 is there to protect the paint on the bike wheel only. It stops the D part banging against the spoke / wheel rim. The strength / resistance to cutting / cropping lies in the metal core of the D piece.

I just reread the specs their web site and I was incorrect re the rubber coating. It is the coating of Baronium on top of the metal core that increases grinder resistance.

The bloke that makes the lock is called Barron, hence calling his special coating Barronium. I suspect it’s something like silicon carbide maybe silicone nitride but I’d say silicone carbide.
