Can anyone in the Co. Antrim area help me in the dark art of changing the frequency on the above. Am heading off to Spain on the 9th May:) and have just found out that I can hear but not be heard by my fellow travellers confused:

Can anyone help.:bow

John

Unlucky, the radio is fecked. If you hear then your on channel and the transmitter is US. had it happen twice to me. I went over to Intaride radios, and they seem more robust.:thumb

Your final Pa transistor may be goosed, other than that it is an older transmitter that works on split frequencies and is crystal controlled, check see if there is a radio Ham that can help you locally

Dr Farkoff maybe correct. Are the other radios Kenwoods by any chance? The channels and freqs are not programmed the same as the Midland.
The nearest compromise is Ch3 on both radios but they all need to be set to the same 'open' freq.

It is possible for you to hear them but not be heard by them until they are set to the same settings. This link should get you the handbook.

Ok guys thanks for that. I thought it needed to be hooked up to a PC. Need to investigate further.

Oberon if you need to I can give Big John a call and see if he can help

John used to sort out a big broadcasting outfits masts for them

He's been to a few of the local gatherings over the last couple of years too

Thanks for that, I've given it to a guy who is a radio ham type in work. If he can't sort a way round it I'll borrow one of the other guys spare sets for the trip. I may have to get back to you if ya don't mind, thanks for the offer though:beerjug:
