Hi,
I for one was very pleased to see this statement appear on the MC website. I am pleased for all the staff at the company, as well as happy that service for my bike will be available 15 mins from home. Great news!:beerjug:

"As some of you may be aware there has been some talk of a change to our decision to close Motorrad Central East which was announced in our letter dated 27/07/2007. We would like to confirm that this is the case and that Motorrad Central East will continue to trade as normal.

As was expressed in our previous letter, we had concerns that there was not the level of business to justify two full dealerships in the Central Belt of Scotland and the prudent course of action was to close our Dalkeith dealership. Having made this decision we have since had many conversations and meetings with BMW UK and other advisors and have been persuaded that with a little more patience and investment on our part the future for the brand in the Central Belt is bright. We and the staff of Motorrad Central East were also buoyed by the amount of support expressed from the customers of the dealership and this in conjunction with the aforementioned has resulted in our change of heart.

We would like to apologise for any concern or confusion this has caused our customers and look forward to continuing our customer relationships for years to come.

Yours sincerely

Ken Waters & John Dillon

Motorrad Central"

Excellent news about Dalkeith staying open :thumb. They are a good bunch. I wonder if my e-mail to BMW UK had anything to do with the change of heart?

Not a bit of it.................................... it was Stumpy's tear-stained cheeks :tears when they told him he was being laid-off after a week in the job :rob

Great news and a big :thumb to management for being willing to review their decision. Mostly in big business once minds have been made up nothing will prompt a reversal for fear of being considered soft. It's great to see customers views being taken into consideration!

PS can you get me a free second key and a tool kit for my GS from BMW?:hug

great news indeed, was in at the start of the week and delighted to find they are staying open.

Happy days! - (was really dreading having to go to Dundee or Glasgow to get the thing fixed - now I can relax with my gin & tonic and maybe go cut the lawn)

ps - Nice brown Box Garfield!) - you sure that thing will ride well??

Anyway , before I get my coat, glad to hear the shop remains open especially for all the staff concerned.

yeah I was panicking, just spent a fortune on a big brown box.....worry not...there was the most beautiful bike in the world in it :D

and more than that, when I popped into the shop today my bike was sitting built ready for its test ride next week :thumb

lastly I agree with what everyone has said so far, there's a great atmosphere in the shop and you can see that in how customers are treated.....so great that the shop continues :beerjug:

They just sold you an £11,500 bike (in the faster "white" colour) - of course there is a good atmosphere :blast

Maybe see you out and about on it (mine is white, with vario topbox and no spotlights)

You've made a mistake, that's not the most beautiful bike in the world:eek:

It's only a plastic 1200 which as every discerning individual knows is the second most beautiful bike in the world after the 1150GS:D
