Is there a difference in the ECU unit between models i.e. GS RS S
Or is it just the chip thats different ?

Hi,

According to realoem.com here are the part codes for different ~ '95 bikes:

K68 R1100RS - 13611342747
K70 R1100R - 13611342747
K69 R1100GS - 13611342747
K74 R850C - 13617655475
K75 R1100S - 13617670336

You pick now from what bike what year you want to change ECU's between.

I think all 2.2 motronic versions are the same, no matter what bike type, same for 2.4 motronic.

A twin spark engine ecu will be different to a single spark ecu? wont it? So an ecu from an R1100s twin spark wont be any good for an 1100 gs single spark i would have thought. Different ignition coils as well

Mate of mine is having sparking problems on his 96 r1100gs he has the chance of a cheap ECU from a 94 R1100RS, just wondering what if any differences there is.
