Mounting panniers on the wall

Howdy all,

Anyone mounted their BMW R1250GSA panniers on the wall?

I run the Lone Rider Motopanniers but they mount onto my GSA frame like the standard panniers do.

Trying to get things off the floor in the garage

Get some garage racking. I have one of these for all my Bike stuff; luggage, spares, service bits, Bike tools etc.

I made a couple of brackets that replicated the pannier mounting points on the bike frames... works a treat. They even lock to the wall if I want, just like they do the bike.

A few nails/screws and a clothes washing line can be a great friend. Hang them at the bottom of the inside of the garage/shed roof out of the way, oh! mind yer head!

Ya my bags are on the shelf (the warped ones) and the panniers are just on the floor..

One other thing too note, spiders and other creepy crawlies love panniers for some weird reason, oh! yeah they hardly ever move, which makes for an ideal roosting/ nesting spot, in the garage/shed.

Tip: Place them each into their own large black rubbish bags tied at top, before leaving them over winter months. Oh! and don't throw them out later.

One last tip: If like me you have a large space and nowhere to place things, look online for cheap or even free household cabinets, the brown furniture nobody wants type. Those with shelves, doors, great asset for garages and sheds for hiding stuff in. Place into corners up against a wall. Cheaper than buying B&Q shelving.

I have an old disused thick strong coffee table, that I could stand my bike on if I wanted, but I chose to fit my old aunts fancy unused ornament cabinet. Glass doors off, plenty shelves for tools and the like.

I know the feeling, reason why I built a larger shed, 10 x 12ft.......plenty room for a couple of bikes and everything else. Make it your own Man cave you deserve.

Gardening equipment, mower, spades, rakes etc. I moved into another smaller shed.

Or build your own lean to, at side of garage for Garden stuff.

Wasted space, is normally found above your head, that is an ideal place to store away lighter goods filling the floor spaces. At 6'3" plan to build it so when you mount your bike you avoid head collisions. With right frame work, it is amazing how much stuff can be placed out of the way of your pride n joy.

If you are talking about Vario Panniers, I have some great wall mounts that are now surplus to requirement.
Uses existing vario locking mechanism to attached and very secure.

Now that you mention it. To the side of the garage, we have a bit of un-used space that borders our neighbour fence. I could put a shed box there and throw all the garden tools in there.

Paint them. Most warp as they're not treated and the wood absorbs all the moisture. Or get some new wood and make some new shelves.

This was another thought...

I could get some new wood (treat it I assume? Not very handy but trying to learn ) and keep the existing shelving but I will still add some more.

I found some quite decent wood planks in the garage under a table, I might bolt those onto the wall then put some hooks up, hang the bags from that, that will free the shelving up then I can put the panniers on the rack at the bottom. Then some storage boxes to get shit off the shelves at the back and make it looks a bit "neater"..

My first shed which fit my CBR600 didnt fit my GS so i went bigger.

I then didnt have room for other shit my bike needed and i wanted a workbench...
result i now have a 16' by 24' garage.

Oh and i still trip over shit cos its full again ffs

I put two lengths of 15mm copper water pipe the correct distance apart. (same as vertical distance on the bike mounts.
Fitted to wall with standoff mounts, which ended up correct distance to mount the panniers to the wall as they do to bike.
Could even use the locks. Were Burmot (sp) panniers but assume mount is the same for genuine BMW ones.
