Mounting panniers on the wall

I put two lengths of 15mm copper water pipe the correct distance apart. (same as vertical distance on the bike mounts.
Fitted to wall with standoff mounts, which ended up correct distance to mount the panniers to the wall as they do to bike.
Could even use the locks. Were Burmot (sp) panniers but assume mount is the same for genuine BMW ones.

It was either mount them on the wall next to the bike or in the corner by the garage door or put them on the shelving. Mounting them on the wall will use "dead space" and free up space on the shelving..

I put my 58ltr top box in the corner, the 46ltr pannier on top then the 33ltr on top of that.
in the corner i cant trip over it.

This was another thought...

I could get some new wood (treat it I assume? Not very handy but trying to learn ) and keep the existing shelving but I will still add some more.

I found some quite decent wood planks in the garage under a table, I might bolt those onto the wall then put some hooks up, hang the bags from that, that will free the shelving up then I can put the panniers on the rack at the bottom. Then some storage boxes to get shit off the shelves at the back and make it looks a bit "neater"..

No need to treat wood planks that is being used indoors, gloss paint will do, or wood stain, unless placing wet panniers on them.

I used two spare 3/4" 3' x 3' white laminated wooden panels, that were for use behind household radiators that was laying around, screwed them to the inside of shed, placed some screws 3/4 way in, now I have an organised tool storage area for ring spanners, scissors etc. etc. I like the look too!

My first shed which fit my CBR600 didnt fit my GS so i went bigger.

I then didnt have room for other shit my bike needed and i wanted a workbench...
result i now have a 16' by 24' garage.

Until I’m locking the bike to the ground anchor. I regularly bang my head on the left pannier doing this.

Try leaving the panniers and top box on the bike at all times mostly empty, makes people think you heading somewhere foreign and the bike look even bigger and more impressive.

If you are talking about Vario Panniers, I have some great wall mounts that are now surplus to requirement.
Uses existing vario locking mechanism to attached and very secure.
