Moving a route from Routeplanner to a Garmin GTX

Can I ask please , how do you get your planned routes ,out of the iPad and onto a gps unit ? ( mine is an xt )
I did find and use a procedure at one time by Spangle ( Rip ) - but it was Very circuitous and clunky and required a decent internet connection , which is seldom available in rural areas .

Use the Garmin Drive App.

Export/share route from MRA App > Drive App

Use the Garmin drive app, but you need to open route on your phone if that is pared to the xt. Then save the route to drive and the XT will pick it up when they are connected via bluetooth
