MSN Msgr problems

Hello peeps

am currently suffering from msn rage,

for some reason my comp will not show my display pic, or that of my contacts, or let me send/ receive files, or webcam.

the prob was with msn 8, so binned it and went back to msn7.5, same prob

tried turning off my firewall/ security and it worked, until i turned it back on again.

am using Zonelabs security suite

am at the end of my tether, someone help!!!!

Looks like you already found the answer. Appears that you need to allow the functions inside your firewall.

Latest version of ZoneAlarm 6.5 suite does not play well with Windows Live! Messenger - it's a known issue on the ZoneLabs message boards, and came in, I think, with an update a couple of weeks ago.

It's partly to do, Zonelabs say, with the way MSN works and the new interoperability with Yahoo! Messenger, and they don't know if it'll be fixed in the next update release.

Annoys the hell out of me too
