I have 56 plate GS1200 and the mud slinger is missing. Instead I have a motorad hugger. I want to put a mud slinger on and remove the hugger because I'm going off road. Anybody got a mud slinger they want to sell or suggest where I can get one. Nippy Normans don't seem to stock them.

You know, that lump of black plastic that sticks out from final drive, mines missing!

Why do you think that you need that to go off road? Mud slinger in a knickname, I think they are fitted because TUV regs in Germany or something. I think they are supposed to help if you are 'rear ended'. They would more likely hinder off road as they would clog with mud. Ever seen a full on 'crosser with a mud slinger.

PS if you really want one you can buy mine. No idea what they are worth.

With regard to said Lower Rear Mudguard....

Some very unkind people told me I wasn't a proper Tosser as I hadn't removed it.

Apparently, if you "OFF-ROAD!" with one of these still attached, all your hair will fall out and you will start to watch "Eastenders":yikes

It therefore follows that if yours is still fixed to the bikes arse-end, you obviously don't "OFF-ROAD!" and therefore you are not a proper Tosser - Simples!:tears

I am now undertaking counselling to get over the shock.:comfort

It is something we do as a matter of course when taking bikes out in Morocco......the rear plastic 'TUV guard' can easily get dragged around the wheel if you pick up a stick or a rock.

As it's only there for German TUV regs (as mentioned above) , there's no need to have it on here anyway :nenau

How will I use up all those "Back to Black" aerosoles that you get at Christmas?

I don't think you quite understand the gravity of the situation!

:blast And of course it gives a nice place to put a GB sticker on as well.:rob

How could I have been so stupid....I humbly apologise :D

There wasn't on on my bike when I got it, I guess on account of those big chunky 'not for girls' manly tyres fitted to the bike. It feels naked without it but its a nakedness I can cope with.

In any case I am distracted by what can only be described as the most heinous tyres I have ever had the displeasure to ride with, I am clearly 'lacking' in the cojones department and will when sufficient funds allow rid myself of this horror, return to something that doesn't 'rumble', 'fall over' or 'let go' and when I do of course I will need to replace the missing OE lower mudguard.

Before I do though I feel I need Charlee Boremans autograph on my tank for added 'patina' :D

Or you could learn to ride properly :augie

Andy....you'll get used to them pretty quickly.....they do feel very alien if you've not had TKC's before, but they are better on the road than most people can cope with...they just feel 'different'.

Iron work, tramlines and wet banding can be 'interesting' but for riding in the badlands of the Chislehurst borders, looking a bit tougher isn't a bad thing ;)

Keep them on, or go back to being a girl, your call ;):D

Andy,

Not sure if they are the same size but I have a pair (front and back) half to 2/3 worn Anarkee 2's off my 1200GSA sitting in my garage.... yours if you want them... knock a few quid off P's PC bill.... I simply replaced them ahead of a punishing bash to the Pyrenees.....

Pick 'em up when it suits you.

Richard

Damn! When I saw the title 'Mud Slinger Missing' I got all excited thinking my ex-wife had finally been kidnapped :JB
