Mudguard 17inch wheel.

Right folks a retired engineer friend of mine is in the process of completing a mould for the 1150 GS 17 inch front wheel conversion.

I did my conversion some years ago and the look of the standard mudguard has always annoyed me.

Anyway let me know if there’s any interest on here and once completed I’ll post up some pics.

No idea on cost yet.

I could certainly be interested, subject to design and cost. Mine is one of the original specials that were made for the conversion but it’s getting old and fibreglass doesn’t last forever…

Yes, interested in this.... The green paint is showing through the adapted ZXR400 mudguard I'm using at the moment.. .

Okay guys that’s possibly 3 up to now. I’ve seen the pictures this week and I’m massively impressed. I’m hoping it will completed next week.

Personally, I like the back end of these but I wonder if the front looks a tad out of proportion. It's as though the OEM 19" mudguard has been lowered rather than something that's profiled for the 17" wheel. I measured mine to see how far it comes from the fork bridge.

Cheers Paul. The original has been cut down front and rear. Also shortened.
Will send pics of the carbon fibre one when done.

Okay folks, update. The carbon fibre mudguard won’t be happening I’m afraid. It’s the second attempt and hasn’t worked.
So just sorting some small imperfections in the fibre glass one and polishing it up and will be good to go.

Fibreglass mudguard completed and on the bike now. I think it looks really good. Will have the bike back on Sunday afternoon. Paul do you want to come round and cast your eye over it on Sunday. I’m 5 mins off the services at Charnock.
