Mudguard 17inch wheel.

Just managed to source a set of RT wheels, so are these still available? If so, I'd like to order one if possible. What was the final cost of them? Cheers.

Hi Steve, I’ll check with him again but he’s rather old and has a lot of projects on the go at the moment.

I think it would need a few to make it worth his while

I understand. Let me know if he is happy to go ahead. Cheers, Steve

Did you ever hear back from your friend?
When I did the fork-swap on mine, I had to find a suitable 17” front mudguard and was able to adapt one from an S1000XR. I also used mudguard mounts from a Ducati and some aluminium flatbar to make up the mounts but it worked really well and looks contemporary. The 1150 forks may be even easier as they aren’t as thick as the 1250 ones and I had to dremel the plastic Ducati hoops a bit to fit. However, you would need 4 of them to hold the aluminium bracket, top and bottom. Everything I used came from eBay…

NB: I changed the brackets slightly after this, using 30mm wide flatbar to make it so I could reposition the mudguard using different hole positions.

Nice looking job Paul, but probably beyond my, very limited, skills set.

Thanks, but that means you’re doomed to rely on someone else sorting it for you, when you’re more than capable of thinking up and implementing a solution of your own. You would be surprised at what you can do…👍
