Top Service from NN and MachineArt USA

Followed your lead guys and just emailed Nippy Norman's. Not sure I'd describe this as "top service" from mudsling though. a replacement won't sort out the damage to my expensive new bike.
Also, I agree with the point that it's not a fitting issue. It wouldbe very difficult to fit it wrong. And, longer screws might make fitting easier but don't have anything to do with this rubbing business.
By the way, never had a pillion on my bike but have had it fully loaded with luggage.
Again though, grateful to dazz for bringing this to everyone's attention.
Cheers
Geoff

I agree 100 % .
The damage is there in my case too . I do not care if there is a replacement policy since the shipping cost would double the cost of the product ( for us who live in EU) and a couple of bolt would not easy the pain .We trust NN as a suplier of quality products but this time he gets a yellow card. And please all you fellows riders spare as from promoting the services of NN. He has our mail addresses and he knows who bought the mudsling. It is his responsibility to contact us and offer what he haw to offer. This is my state...

Nippy Norman Website said:NOTE:The Mudsling is not recommended for use on bikes with lowered suspension. Suspension travel interference may result.
ALL BIKES - Always adjust your suspension when going from 1 up riding to 2 up and/or 2 up loaded to prevent the suspension from bottoming out - this will optimise the performance of the MudSling.

Ok . I guess i must Apologise . I was angry and unhappy. It was not fair to put the blame on NN for the mudsling disaster. But he is the one i Know and trust and i needed someone toOh come on guys, let's get this into context...
- The Mudsling is well established and has been almost universally praised here as a great product.
- The 'damage' is superficial paint scratches. Yeh, sure it's a bit annoying, but it's hardly a big deal. No-one else had even noticed until it was pointed out.
- Nippy Norman, once aware of the problem, contacted the manufacturer and asked them to look into it.
- The manufacturer immediately did a design mod and will have the modified version available within a couple of weeks.
Sure, with the benefit of hindsight there's a minor design floor... they maybe should have left a little more clearance.
But as for Nippy Norman, what more could he have done? What would you do if you were him? Do you want him to personally test every product he sells, on every bike, in every condition, before he offers it for sale?
It's great that we've been made aware of the issue, but please, let's not turn this into yet another witch-hunt.

That is really a bit cheeky !!! And how will you be covered if something goes wrong with this 'defective' part and it wraps itself round the bike? If you are really that mean can't you find an old bit of carpet instead?
