Muffs and Gauchos 2011

A little advice please?

I'd like to fit these when cold and whip them off and stick them in my panniers when not. But it looks like tie wraps are needed.

Are they or has Miff just added the tie wraps for his own purposes?

The Muffs come with elastic bungies that wrap around the closures (or you can use zip ties). With these you can do exactly as you sugest. I've only ever used the bungies and my set are over five years old now. They can be put on and taken off in well under five minutes.

As per PM: I don't have any more pics of the new 1200 gaucho. Only the ones on my website www.thelmcco.com and here in the original tread.

No reason why the gauchos wouldn't work fine in the manor you describe. The rider doesn't have to strap himself in. He simlpy lifts it up and sits underneath it. Plus when the bike is left it folds out over the seat to keep the weather off. There's also a security ring by which it can be locked to the bike.

I have ordered one to have a look at but it seems they have run out of stock in the UK so mine is comming direct from Italy. Hopfully I'll have it early in the week. I'll get some propper pics of it then.

A big thanks to Val for a very fast delivery.I ordered mine direct from the website a day or so before Christmas and was not really expecting to see them before January. But to my suprise and delight they were here this morning. :thumb2 Now thats the sort of service I wish everyone could achieve.

Got my muffs as a xmas pressie. Put them on the bike to make sure that I wanted to keep them and wifey could wrap them up for me. Alas, I liked them so much they stayed on the bike!

Had them on for about a month and half - they are fab. Don't think they'd look as good on a 916 though!!

But they are brill. At 1 degree I'd have the grip heaters on number 2 and still be very cold. With the muffs, I get away easily with number 1.

They don't get in the way.

I luv 'em.

Hi Val

received today and attached to the bike

lot warmer than i was expecting (2 degrees C this morning), showed up how leaky my wax jacket is thou

rode to chipping camden this morning, a 200 mile round trip, it was 2 degrees when i set off and 5 degrees when i got home,

really like the bib on the gaucho

when i got home i was still a functioning human being other than a cold but not frozen left hand due to the heated grip not working was using summer gloves with the muffs, have never got on with thick winter gloves

if i had worn a base layer, i reckon i could have ridden happily in sub zero conditions for 200 miles

Superb service from Val.

I emailed on Saturday regarding the muffs and wasn't expecting a reply until at least Monday.
How wrong was I1
Emailed back Saturday, ordered Sunday in my hands today. :clap

Got to work away for the rest of the week so can't wait for Saturday now to fit and test them.

Here come dry toasty hands!

Andy
