Received Many Thanks

Cheers Val, the muffs for my GS arrived yesterday and fitted straight on. Very simple to to fit and good quality kit. Once again many thanks for the great service.

I have no idea what handgaurds mine has, it is an '08 model 1200GS and the upper part of the gaurd is grey and the lower part black. I am guessing it is standard issue but am unsure.

Does anyone know if the muffs will go over these gaurds, as I would only occasionally fit them I cannot be bothered if they wont go on off in 30 seconds.

Yup - they fit fine, and go on and off very quickly.

I wouldn't be without mine during the winter now.

hello val. looks good for this time of year , tryed to email on your link with no look , would like to try out the muffs 319 &gaucho 117 ,on my gs 1150 adv &1200gsa . cheers pete. ([email protected])

Email sent.

Neckstrap?? I'd be a might concerned about what would happen in the event of an off, what's the strap like and do you think that's a concern. Do you actually need the neck strap or is it suitably supported just by the inflatable tubes?

I'm >< this close to buying one. My heated jacket's wonderful but the nether regions are getting a bit chilly on a longer ride.

The 'Neck strap' has a breakaway section to prevent the rider becoming entangled etc etc. It works really well. :thumb2
I would recommend however that the rider makes sure that it is on the outside of his collar, to prevent a nasty scratch to the neck :blast

The inflatable tubes will probably be enough to support the Gaucho if you'd rather not use the neck strap.

PS: Your Gaucho will be on it's way tomorrow (Tuesday) :thumb

Ive just bought a set of these(not from Val though)but i have no neck strap,
i gotta say that one of the reasons for buying these was for the strap, maybe its model specific:duno

Have you looked in the top pocket? If you have and not found a neck strap (it has and orange QR part on one end) then you are in possession of either the R118 or R119 Gauchos.

You don't say what bike you have :nenau so I can't tell you if you have the correct one or not.

The R118 is designed to fit bikes with a low ground clearance and small capacity bikes like the CG125 CB250 etc, and is therefore quite short.

The R119 is designed for the big trail bikes like the KTM's Tenere's 650/800GS's etc, basically all the big singles and vertical twins. These do not have a neck strap.

The R117 is designed exclusively for the BMW Boxer flat twins (though they will also fit other bikes with boxer engines).

The heat protection pads on the Gauchos have been placed to protect the Gaucho where the heat is actually coming from.

Hope this clears things up a little.

I had to laugh on the way home tonight, when the fella next to me had his winter gloves on and was hugging the radiator (done that) on his bike at the lights. Theres me in summer gloves and muffs - warm as toast :D

I dont know why i didnt do it ten years ago, doh! :blast

One thing i've found when fitting is they are very snug to the switches. its pretty impossible to hit the engine start button inside the muffs - i push it from outside the muffs - is that normal Val?

Rich

Thanks Val
Muffs arrived today for my F800 GS. Look really good:)

I was gonna to fit them this morning but SWMBO has confiscated them, as they have to be gift wrapped and I have to look surprised for my daughter (she's 30!) on Xmas day, bugger, bugger, bugger

We've had reall heavy snow for the last five hours, so I would'nt have been able to try them today, or for the forseeable future :blast

Which bike 660 or 800??
It would be interesting to know about fit on different bikes. Some bikes, the muffs fit easily other are more of a fiddle. The R100GS for example is very tight round the starter button and the choke leaver. The 1200GS is much easier access to the switches 'including the ADV's aux light switch'.

The one certainty is that the muffs do give a bit with some use, making things easier all round.

Christmas break

Please note:
We will be away for a few days over Christmas with no Internet access. We are expecting to be back in the real world a little before new year 'but don't quote me on that':augie could be a bit longer, depending on where we end up. :beerjug:

We can post packages upto the 24th for Muffs and the 23rd for Gauchos.

Please also note that after the 4th January the VAT rises to 20% so there will have to be a small increase in the price to cover this.

Cheers Val

Got the Muffs today, fitted straight away. Fit well on the F800GS, looking forward to a ride now without the agonizing pain running through my hands.
Thanks again, fast delivery, excellent muffs

Aha,
that explains it then,i got the R119 for my Tiger :hide
i did get my Muffs from you though Val,thanks very much for sending them as quick as you did
cheers

All fitted now, although on my 2007MY 1200GSA fitted with Touratech hand guards it's very tight to get to the starter button/kill switch, switches on the clutch side are fine. However, I'm not about to test hem until my ungritted hill
is clear of sheet ice:eek:

Gaucho arrived at home while I was sitting on a tropical beach in Africa. Getting into Gatwick at 4am this morning was something of a shock! Will have it fitted in the next few days once I've sorted out the electrical bits that I want to tidy up and converting the spots/fogs to hids.

Right! Thats Christmas over. Back in the homestead now, so business as usual :thumb2

Except for the New Year that is :beerjug:

Hi Val, I'm guessing that given the muffs fit a GS1200 with oem handguards they'll probably fit an X Challenge with barkbusters - or will they, do you know?

Don't know for sure, but try them. There's no reason why they shouldn't.

Can't recommend these Muffs highly enough rode the 12 miles into work this morning didn't need to turn the heated grips on and couldn't wait to get my summer gloves off! Brilliant:D
