Neckstrap?? I'd be a might concerned about what would happen in the event of an off, what's the strap like and do you think that's a concern. Do you actually need the neck strap or is it suitably supported just by the inflatable tubes?
I'm >< this close to buying one. My heated jacket's wonderful but the nether regions are getting a bit chilly on a longer ride.
The 'Neck strap' has a breakaway section to prevent the rider becoming entangled etc etc. It works really well.

I would recommend however that the rider makes sure that it is on the outside of his collar, to prevent a nasty scratch to the neck
The inflatable tubes will probably be enough to support the Gaucho if you'd rather not use the neck strap.
PS: Your Gaucho will be on it's way tomorrow (Tuesday)
Ive just bought a set of these(not from Val though)but i have no neck strap,
i gotta say that one of the reasons for buying these was for the strap, maybe its model specific
Have you looked in the top pocket? If you have and not found a neck strap (it has and orange QR part on one end) then you are in possession of either the R118 or R119 Gauchos.
You don't say what bike you have

so I can't tell you if you have the correct one or not.
The R118 is designed to fit bikes with a low ground clearance and small capacity bikes like the CG125 CB250 etc, and is therefore quite short.
The R119 is designed for the big trail bikes like the KTM's Tenere's 650/800GS's etc, basically all the big singles and vertical twins.
These do not have a neck strap.
The R117 is designed exclusively for the BMW Boxer flat twins (though they will also fit other bikes with boxer engines).
The heat protection pads on the Gauchos have been placed to protect the Gaucho where the heat is actually coming from.
Hope this clears things up a little.
Val.
