The muffs arrived today, fitted in 15 minutes. And I must say they look suitably, er, functional! Great bit of kit and I'm looking forward to giving them a good tryout this weekend.

Postal strike

It seems there is a five day postal strike on. Not being one to listen to the news these days, I only found out the other day when a postie mate of mine told me.

The next order is due in today (independent carrier) so what with the postie strike it might be a week or so before you get your Muffs We'll endeavor to get them out as soon as the strike is over.

Quick question for those of you who've used the gauchos before. How are they for long stretches of motorway riding in winter? I'm thinking of temps around or a touch below freezing at speeds in the 60-ish miles per hour range. (That's basically my daily commute, hence the specifics.)

Do the gauchos offer enough coverage or would a full-on pant be more appropriate?

They are fantastic

Thanks Val - I am so pleased with these bits of kit. Really well made and very functional. They are so easy to fit and once the gauchos are set up (you just need to bend a sewn-in metal rod so that they curve around your leg) they can be fitted in seconds.
In reply to Gonzomup - I haven't had chance to try them in anger yet but I can guarantee that they will make any long cold wet journey a lot more pleasant. The gauchos don't enclose your legs but act a bit like a fairing close to your legs and lower body. They will stop driving wet and cold especially around the very vulnerable bits. You will still need to wear protective trousers to stay totally dry.
All in all - I think these as my best buys of the year (apart from the GS).

I've lost count the amount of times i'e posted these pictures .

Temp of -6, 500 mile day, with no discomfort whatsoever, to get an idea of how cold it was, look at the frost on the screen . Also had a home made heated fleece which helped.

Unfortunately you'll need to remove the extentions.

Hi Tuned In, Any issues with them still fitted? Have you any pictures with them on? I just want to be able to fit them on when needed without having to disturb the handguards.
