Firstly I had this.

Great bike, with the standard seat on, a bit too tall with 30" inseam. I installed the TT XL Seat and the bike was very manageable indeed.

It was my intention to get the s1000xr with couldn't be arsed to wait and not sure about 2up touring on it.

So this is my new steed complete with gear shift assist pro.

It's the low suspension model with suits me better I think ( Fully loaded with all the panniers & pillion, possibly too low? Will find out soon).

With a 30" inseam (31" with boots) I have the balls of my feet down, almost flat foot with Exclusive seat on.

Panniers vinyl wrapped in matte black looks loads better.

Other farkles added are the BMW Exclusive seats.

Akrapovic Exhaust with baffles out :D

Ventureshield paint protection.

TT Headlight protector & Wunderlich sidestand enlarger.

Muldsling & fender extender.

Being lower the bike is noticeably more stable at lower speeds and the suspension is more sporty compared to the 2010 model I had.

Seen against a random multistrada.

Happy with it, after purchase they announced the 2016 model with cornering ABS etc..:blast

That looks great, and I can't understand why BMW decided to drop the best colour, for 2016. Btw, your handguards are droopy and need adjusting up.;)

OK bike but why people choose blue I'll never understand :)

Looks fab. Picked mine up yesterday, in blue as well.

Nice-looking bike.
But I wouldn't lose any sleep over "cornering ABS" - sounds like a real "must-not-have".
Without doubt, the best "cornering ABS system" is permanently-fitted to the inside of your skull.

Nice one Mr A, that looks really impressive and the Black Panniers do suit the blue colour in my opinion.

Being able to "configure" the look is exactly the type of functionality that the BMW website lacks and highlights the benefit of the forum we have here too!

( Fully loaded with all the panniers & pillion, possibly too low? Will find out soon). - I have the lowered version too and recently started riding with a pillion, from initial start off it 'feels' a little low though with ESA adjusted helmets/cases icons etc activated you still have to watch out for the bike being higher when stopping as it does raise it! I read a tip someone else posted to set it in Dynamic Mode and I found that does assist when setting off from stationery. (Only ridden Pillion when dry up to now) Gear Shift assist is really useful with pillion aboard too, smoother changes and less helmet kisses :)

Anymore comments on the Exclusive Seats compared to stock seats on longer miles or length of time riding would be interesting to hear.

Cheers :beerjug: Jonno

I can't comment on the seats yet as I've only done small miles, will be touring soon so can report then.

The wife is happy with hers as its a major step up from stock seat.

colour makes no difference to the speed as cornering ABS will to slowing you down….this gimmick allows you to be leant over and pull the front brake lever on hard …f wonder which if us that have spend £16k will try it out first …

As above the best ABS is the link between your right hand and the brain .

lovely looking bike mate …enjoy

The wrap was done by a local sign writing firm in kendal. They generally wrap commercial vehicles etc...

It wasn't cheap but the finish is very good considering he cut round everything.

How much are we talking? I'd like to get my top box done, so could always send it to them if they are that good.

Pm me if you prefer.:thumb

I liked the idea of black panniers so gave it a go myself and ordered some 3M Matt black off EBay for about £25 I think. The panniers are bloody fiddly to do around the tie down cleats but the effect is worth all the trouble. Finished off with some graphics from Humvee.
Took ages to do and next time I'd think twice.

I'd advise on searching locally tbh, better to see the vinyl's on offer as they vary a lot in terms of looks & quality.
Cost me £130 per box all in including re riveting the strap mounts. Not cheap and time consuming work.

I can pm you the details though if your keen?
