This is probably going to sound pretty lame compared with some of the amazing adventures that some of you guys have been having, but I went out on my bike this morining and had the best ride I have had in years. I live Birmingham, I rode through some of the smaller roads in Warwickshire and Gloucestershire, no traffic and sweet roads, stopped for a chat with some other bikers in Stratford and then carried on home. I emtied the (full) tank on my 1200 GSA and have not enjoyed a ride as good in years.

I can totally relate to your day SJPB, I had a ride just like yours myself today. I did a 123 miles round trip from Peterborough to Melton Mowbray then Market Harborough and then back to Peterborough via Wolllastons BMW.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, not many miles but very enjoyable ones all the same, and thats what its all about in my opinion.
So no SJ, its not lame, its what all of us enjoy the most, the ride itself, long or short.
So here`s too many, many more enjoyable "lame" rides.......enjoy one and all.............:thumb

Also agree that take a ride for a day - did 250 miles Stourbridge-Bulithwels-back lanes to Treagon-Devils Bridge-Aberristwith-Elan Vally-Ryader-Kington-Ludlow-Home
Brilliant day - localish

(sorry about the spelling !) :bounce1

I ride about 10 miles anywhere from home then set my Garmin to take me to e.g. Bourton-on-the-water - shortest route - some nice tracks to be found this way.

'Tis all true...just riding your bike is good :bounce1:clap:bounce1, no matter where and a GS does make it so rude not to take the long way to wherever, no?

Agree 100%, i just rode mine the 15 miles to work and got here with a :) on me face :thumb

Love the ride to work in the mornings.
Cool and crisp.
Dark.
Unlit main roads with loads of traffic and most with no headlights and going too fast.
Gets the heart pumping - and usually takes me about 10 minutes!
Is it naive to say that it's just fun to RIDE?
